2024 was a tight spot, but nobody puts baby in a corner. I didn’t really want to make a post for the end of the year, as I celebrate my end of year in March, but the last new moon of 2024, this time in Capricorn, told me I have to.
Capricorn is practical and pushes through and past, so I’ll keep to that energy.
I’m extremely grateful for having had the time to do the things I love the most this year: write, read (books and oracle cards), support processes and untie knots, but also perform on stage and have intense and deepening exchanges with thoughtful and kind people. There have been loads of difficult moments too, which I addressed publicly because I don’t think it helps to only ever talk about successes. That’s not what healing is about.
On the summer solstice of 2024 I launched this here site, on Substack, to be able to share writings of the last five years. There’s 56 readers now, which is a great start, and I wish many more will join into the New Year. As you know, the content shared here is free - so think about sharing it with loved ones and inviting them to subscribe if you know they could relate to the content.
While I’m not charging for these writings, it’s hours of work spent typing and editing and creating images and promoting. If you’ve enjoyed it, think about joining as a pledge - that’s $6,41 per month, or $77 a year. Or three coffees outdoors. It helps support my work and also motivates me to keep going, which is not always obvious when you do everything yourself. It will only leave your bank once I make the paid subscription available - and even then, you can choose to opt out if your financial circumstances have changed in the meanwhile. We all want to support our friends, and sometimes that support means investing in their dreams.
2024 also saw the launch of my website for spiritual services: Seaflame. For those of you curious about my spiritual offerings, have a have a look. I don’t just talk a good game, but I am also committed to guide and connect people with their ancestors. It’s a bit too soon to share with you stories of progress from the ones who walked with me in 2024, but expect some of that soon.
This last December I also soft launched my new YouTube channel. There’s 26 people watching already, and I kind of love every one of them.
The first post - a half-informative half-personal account of my mourning for my grandmother and the ritual of the mourning beard - is available in Romanian with subtitles in every language. You can consider following me there, too, if you haven’t yet.
For those of you who don’t know, I’ll remind you I am a one-man band when it comes to creating my content, be it written, video or image. While I do love collaboration, this is all very personal so I want to give it the kind of care it needs. Standing by this content is standing by me, which is why I treasure the engagement of every single one of you. I sleep well knowing I do the work.
Ending 2024 on a self-congratulatory note, yes.
But also here to wish you well.
May every one of you who took from their time to read any of my stories or poems get that time back tenfold in the coming year, as time to relax and time to enjoy the world unapologetically.
May every laugh and every moment of comfort you brought to a loved one or a stranger become the foundation for your future success in the coming times.
May every wound and pain that you carry, proudly or in silence, lessen and heal, and may their lessons be not wasted but further expand you.
May your loved ones, and every person who has love for you, thrive and be safe and held tightly in the arms of love.
May you experience joy, and laughter, and community, and may the darkest days of the past seasons be forgotten under the gilded memories to come.
I’m humbled and happy to have you amongst my readers, and pleased to take you with me into the coming cycle.
A happy new year to those who celebrate!
IO.
